Section 01

Who runs OutlineArt

OutlineArt (outlineart.online) is a free tool made and run by Lauwrens Reyneke, an independent software engineer, who is responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach me through the contact form on the home page.

Section 02

Your photos

When you make a pattern, all the image processing happens in your own browser. Your photos are never uploaded to OutlineArt or anyone else, and I never see them. The PDF you save is created on your device too. Once the page has loaded, the maker works even without an internet connection.

Section 03

What is saved on your device

OutlineArt doesn't use cookies. It saves two small settings in your browser's local storage so they're remembered next time:

  • your light, dark or system theme choice, and
  • your last orientation, number of colours and detail level.

These stay on your device and are never sent to me. You can remove them by clearing your browser's site data.

Section 04

Analytics

To understand how many people use OutlineArt and which features help, the site uses two privacy-friendly analytics tools. Neither uses cookies or tracks you across other websites, and neither receives anything about your photos.

  • Vercel Web Analytics counts page views, along with general information such as the referring website, browser, device type and country.
  • Umami counts page views and how often features are used: adding a photo (and whether it was uploaded, dropped or pasted), making a pattern (the colours, detail and orientation chosen), saving a PDF and sending a contact message. It records general information such as browser, device type and country, but not your name, email or photos.

These tools see your IP address briefly in order to work out a country and count visits without cookies, but they are not used to identify you.

Section 05

Contact form

If you use the contact form, it sends me your email address, your message and, if you give it, your name. I use these only to read and reply to your message. I don't add you to a mailing list, and I don't share or sell your details.

Messages are delivered to my inbox by Resend, an email delivery service, which processes them only to send them and may keep delivery logs for a limited time. I keep messages for as long as needed to answer and follow up, and you can ask me to delete them at any time.

Section 06

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical information such as IP addresses and browser details in its server logs to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Section 07

Service providers and international transfers

Vercel (hosting and Vercel Web Analytics), Umami (analytics) and Resend (email delivery) process information on my behalf. They may do so on servers outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union, under their own privacy and security commitments.

Section 08

What I don't do

  • No advertising, and no selling or renting of personal information.
  • No accounts or sign-up.
  • No newsletters or marketing email.

Section 09

Children

OutlineArt is suitable for families, but it isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from them. Children should ask a parent or guardian before using the contact form. If you think a child has sent me personal information, let me know and I'll delete it.

Section 10

Your rights

Depending on where you live, for example under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) or the EU and UK GDPR, you may have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. In practice the only personal information I hold is what you send through the contact form. To make a request, use the contact form. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Section 11

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS with strict security settings, and the services above protect the data they handle. No system is perfectly secure, but keeping your photos on your own device means the most personal part never leaves it.

Section 12

Changes to this policy

If how OutlineArt handles information changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
